DIY Child Diploma Activity
Graduation will be right around the corner again, and this is an excellent exercise to get your kids excited about the next step in their lives. For this DIY Child Diploma Activity, there are 11 easy steps to follow.

- Child Diploma
- Colored construction paper
- (1) Rhinestone
- (1) Manila Folder
Step 1- Head cut out
Take your manila folder and trace and cut out a circle, use as much of the folder as possible.
This should be your finished product.
Step 2- Giving it a new hairdo.
Carefully cut triangles into paper, creating a jagged edge. This little guy is going for the spike look.
Cut across the paper, making a strip.
Step 3- Glue, glue, glue
Glue the paper down to the manila circle. This is where it will start looking like your desired character.
After you glue the “Hair” to the manila circle, cut the extra paper around it.
Step 4- Adding the Graduation cap.
Cut out two strips of paper about 2″ wide.
Glue one edge down.
Take the second strip and adjust the size as needed making sure it is wider than the cap base.
Snip the sides with your scissors.
To add character to your cap, clip the edges diagonally. It will look like a trapezoid.
Glue the paper down as well, only applying glue to one side.
Step 5 – Adding Bling
Add a dot of glue to the rhinestone.
Apply it to the center of the cap.
Step 6- Framing the diploma
Step 7- Almost there, connecting the pieces.
Add clue to the bottom half of the manila circle
Apply pressure to secure the pieces in place.
Step 8- Making glasses ( OPTIONAL)
Take your scissors and cut fringe like strips into paper.
Cut across the fringe, creating individual little paper strips.
A line the strips on the face, making little boxes for the eyeglasses and one in the middle to connect the two.
Finished look to step 8
Step 9- It’s time to get “hands-on.”
Cut hand shaped pieces out of the manila folder. You can even trace your hand as well.
Also, cut two strips for the legs from the manila folder.
Step 10- a Little pair of boots.
Draw an “L” on the paper and cut out around it.
Step 11- Almost there, Gluing pieces together.
Take the loose pieces and a line them where you want them to go. Start gluing!
Start with the hands and place them on the each side of the child diploma‘s edges.
All done with the hands.
Apply glue to the bottom of the legs and attach his little boots.
Glue the top of the legs and attach them to the bottom of the child diploma.
